Breaking the Social Norms for the Aged

Hello everyone, and welcome to another article form Comic Chronicles. At the time of writing this article, the year is 2023, and we are living in Gen Alpha. When we compare our current generation to the previous generation, we will be able to notice that our current society has much less social barriers, and we are under less expectations from society as a whole. Who knows, maybe in there future generations, more an more barriers of social expectations may be eradicated! However, there is one generation that we must consider: The generation of our grandparents.  I will use two poems to further explain this interesting topic, which are 'Grandma Climbs a Tree' by Ruskin Bond, and 'My Grandma' by Victoria Cornwall. The former of the two narrates poetically the story of the poet's grandmother, who is a young-spirited woman who loved to climb trees. However, she is viewed as peculiar and adamant by her family members and others. Eventually, she receives an opportunity to

My Way of Celebrating: How I like to Celebrate any Achievement in my Life

Hello Everyone, and welcome to another write-up from Comic Chronicles! Today I write an article on how I like to celebrate any achievement in my life. There are people (Most people, if I am not wrong) who love throwing big celebrations. In fact, I heard stories of people throwing parties for simple things like meeting a deadline! However, I am an introvert, and am not really a big fan of celebrations. Instead, whenever I achieve something, I usually just give myself the day off, or some time off if there are other things to do, that is, if my parents would allow me, of course! For example, if I achieved something great, my parents would allow us to, say, go to a fast food restaurant of my choice, or allow me to do whatever I want, such as slacking off with YouTube! You see, this is the reward I like to give myself for working hard; Giving myself time to do whatever I want, that I didn't get time to do while preparing or working on the task, or preparing for a competitive exam of s

Star Achiever - Two of the greatest accomplishments I've ever done

Hello Everyone, and welcome to another episode of Comic Chronicles! Today I talk a bit about myself, as I write on two of the greatest achievements that I ever made, and that I still am proud of. 1. First Spelling Bee Victory: Almost every year, I have participated in spelling bees. For those of you who don't know what a spelling bee is, it's a competition where we try our best to spell large words. However, in t spelling bee at my location, we have more advanced stuff such as synonyms and antonyms ,definitions, and even unjumbling words. It is actually a lot harder than the part where you just spell. However, when I was in 6th grade, I finally managed to get my first win in spelling bee. This was because that year, I decided to put my maximum effort into it, learn new words from the dictionary every day, learn its synonyms and antonyms... The test was conducted online individually, because of the COVID-19 restrictions. I did so good, that the invigilator actually suspected me

Hello Everyone, and welcome to another episode of Comic Chronicles. Today I decided to write something regarding the topic of travel, as I share with you about my dream tourist destination, the one and only Land of the Rising Sun, the breath-taking island nation of Japan, and why I want to visit the place. Japan, the Land of the Rising Sun. Credit:  Depositphotos First, let me share some facts about Japan. Japan is an island nation in Asia, neighbouring China and both the Koreas, as well as the northern (Siberian) region of Russia. It is 377,970 sq. km (145,935 sq. mi), smaller than the U.S. State of California! Japan is referred to by its citizens in Japanese as Nippon or Nihon (日本), meaning 'Sun's Origin'. Japan is also nicknamed 'Land of the Rising Sun'. Both of these names are due to the fact that the Japanese believed that Japan was the land that the very first sunrays shone on. Japan has the world's most populous city (Tokyo), the world's largest fish

Health is Wealth, but Not only Physical: Exploring the different types of health and why they are all Important

Today, we talk about one of the most important topics, especially in the current world, something that not many people consider, but is something we should all be grateful for and help develop; I'm talking about health. You might have heard the saying, "Health is Wealth". This statement, in my opinion, cannot get any more true. You may not know it, but health can have a great influence on our lives. Therefore, our good health is one of the greatest assets we can ever possess, and we should be grateful for it.  Now, there are different kinds of health, all of which we should appreciate to the greatest extent, as all these kinds of health influence our lives individually. Also, all these kinds of health are interlinked, and an imbalance in one aspect of the body can affect another. The different types of health include: Physical Health: Obviously, you may know about this more than the other

Persuading the hard way: Activism and Why It's not Detrimental

Image
Hello, and welcome to another article from the Comic Chronicles! So you may know that in the past years there had been a lot of protests against topics, such as protests against racial discrimination and abortion bans in the U.S.  However, on the subject of protests, there are some people who devote their whole lives to protesting in one way or another, with the aim of reforming the society. They start protests, make speeches and start movements to "make society listen to their voices and mend itself". Of course, I am talking about activists. Activists are those who, as mentioned before, aim towards reforming a certain sector of society, to "change" it, and to make a better society for the greater good. They do this through more vigorous practices such as campaigns, boycotts, protests, and such movements.  However, despite all this, the main subject is whether or not activism is majorly good or majorly bad, and whether activists should be accepted more or disregard

Creativity - What Does it Mean to Me?

Image
Hello Guys, welcome to another article of Comic Chronicles! One thing that drives my life is creativity. What exactly is this creativity? Well, different people can see this word differently. Let me tell you my interpretation of this word. Creativity, in my opinion, is a quality. It is the ability of the mind to develop new and original ideas for activities. Creativity is most applicable in the Arts, as well as Literature. However, creativity is present everywhere in my opinion, and it influences the way you live. The advantage of creativity is that you know what to do yourself most of the time, and you know how to live your life your own way.  That is my interpretation of Creativity. Thank you for reading this. You can also comment what creativity means to you! Thank you!
